This restaurant is conveniently located just a short walk from St. Stephen's Basilica, making it an excellent choice for lunch while exploring the area. As it was an exceptionally hot day, we chose to dine indoors, although the restaurant also offers outdoor seating. The interior has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and we were greeted by a friendly and attentive team who made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Since we still had a full afternoon of sightseeing ahead, we opted for cocktails and main courses rather than a heavy meal. It turned out to be an excellent decision. The food was beautifully prepared, and the fish was cooked perfectly—fresh, flavorful, and expertly seasoned. Our server also recommended a traditional Hungarian chili oil, which complemented the dish wonderfully and added an authentic local touch. Being located in one of Budapest's most popular tourist areas, the prices are understandably on the higher side. My husband and I visited on our second day in Budapest. I have several, serious food allergies and informed our waiter Anti about them as soon as we were seated. He asked a few more questions and then assured me that my Pasta Bolognese was safe to eat. This is the kind of service that is so important to me. Thank you for a wonderful meal and for caring about me and keeping me safe. Excellent restaurant!!!

I’ve had two amazing experiences at Tom George! The food is incredible, honestly, there’s nothing on the menu I wouldn’t recommend. The service is excellent, and everyone is so kind, welcoming, and helpful. Easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Budapest. We ordered the smoked burrata gnocchi, mushroom tagliatelle, pan-seared shrimp, green lasagna, truffle mashed potatoes, and the chocolate soufflé, every single dish was a 10/10.

Was worried this was going to be a tourist spot, but it absolutely blew us away. Pasta, Caesar salad, tiramisu, cocktails. All genuinely excellent. Our waiter Ujvári A. was fantastic too. A real find. Highly recommend!

We sat outside in the evening with perfect weather. We tasted some excellent dishes. The angliunti salomon was great, the kale salad was refreshing and the duck breast was made perfectly. The dish that really surprised me was the foie gras. An amazing dish in execution and taste. We also tasted the tiramisu and the sour limoncello dessert. In short, an excellent restaurant with excellent service. I will be back again in the future
