About Alelí Budapest

Best meal of our European trip so far. Recommend the Branzini sashimi entre in oil And lemon (Benjamin our waiter recommended) - great guy. Mains: best were gamberi tagliotini and linguine frutti de mare. Seriously top quality ingredients. The sommelier (Andres) was awesome. I asked to try local and Italian dry whites by glass and what he brought were some of the best wines I’ve tasted. Rates top in my travels. Honest review.

We had a very nice experience here on a hot June evening. There would have been seating available outside but it was too hot so we chose to be inside with the aircon. The staff is incredibly nice, every single member greeted us when we were walking to our table. Our waiter was also very very on top of his game, so absolutely no completes there. The food was good, especially the salads and the beef tartare. We were a group of four and we shared the caesar and the avocado salad and the tartare for appetizers, and then we each had our own main courses: lasagna, spaghetti carbonara, vitello'tonato and sea bass. Lasagna wasn't covered in the white sauce, which was absolutely the right decision, it tastes really nice. Vitello'tonato and sea bass were also tasty, nothing amazing, but solid. The spaghetti carbonara was a disappointment. It tasted really bland, it lacked that wonderful umami cheesy taste, it was actually a pretty boring and tasteless dish. We also had dessert. I had the seasonal Panna Cotta with strawberries and rhubarb, and my friends had something else. Neither of us had nothing bad to say about those. The interior is beautifully decorated.

We came to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, encouraged by many recommendations—some accurate, some less so. All in all, we had a good experience. The dishes were excellent, and the bucatini was a nostalgic highlight. The atmosphere was wonderful, though the service felt a bit too eager at times. Our main disappointment was the dessert and especially the coffee, which arrived lukewarm. After asking for a hot coffee, we were surprised to receive the same cup reheated in the microwave, losing all its aroma. From a restaurant of this standard, we would expect a freshly made coffee served at the right temperature.

We came to Alelí Budapest with very high expectations, as it’s widely considered one of the top dining spots in the city. The service truly stood out..attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel like VIPs throughout the entire experience, which definitely elevated the visit. As for the food, it was more of a mixed impression. The creamy onion soup leaned slightly too sour for our taste and could have been better balanced. The avocado salad was fresh overall, but the avocado itself had a few dark spots, which felt a bit below the standard you’d expect from a restaurant of this level. On a more positive note, the pizza one of their signature offerings was excellent. The dough was beautifully made, and the flavors worked very well together. We tried the version with foie gras, which was delicious and unique. While the foie gras wasn’t very generous in portion, it still added a rich and enjoyable touch. It’s definitely a dish we would recommend trying. Overall, while the service and certain dishes impressed us, a few details in the food prevented the experience from fully matching the high expectations. Still, it’s a place worth visiting, especially for the

Wow, wow and wow. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised when I came here for lunch after a recommendation. I was so impressed I came back the same day for dinner. Over the 2 visits, I had the beef tartar which was sublime, the lasagne which was incredible and the truffle pizza which was very delicious. I officially have a favourite restaurant in Budapest, keep up the amazing work. Looking forward to the next time I get to eat here!
