Anton by Aleli-Budapest My wife, a friend, and I had the pleasure of visiting Budapest in the early spring this year. Budapest has so many great restaurants, which made our trip that much more enjoyable. While hunting for the legendary Kolodko Mini Bronze statues, it started snowing at lunchtime. We did not have to look far for a warm, inviting restaurant. We found Anton by Aleli. Aleli is an awarding winning, upscale restaurant, but across the hall is its little brother, Anton. Entering, we saw a couple of tables with young people chowing down on pizza that looked fabulous. It is a beautiful restaurant with memorabilia covering two walls and big picture windows looking out at the snow falling. The menu, although small, had a nice selection of appetizers, soups, salads, pasta, and those lovely pizzas. The wine menu is extensive, which works for us. It was definitely a soup day for us, so we chose one Tuscan tomato-and-bread soup with fresh basil and two traditional Italian vegetable soups. Amazing place, we enjoyed it a lot. Food was tasty, high quality ingredients. We had the Mac & cheese, lasagna and a pizza all were really good. The cocktails are amazing too. The service was one of the best we had. Will come back again!

We were out walking all morning and found this place by accident. It was a wonderful visit. We enjoyed soup and wine and breadsticks. Fantastic waitstaff - they were so welcoming and tried to teach us some words in Hungarian. It had been snowing out so we were happy to come in and wartm up a bit. Would go back, gladly, next time in the area.

Lovely small place next to the "big brother" Alelí, there is a great menu, not very big portions but very delicate dishes.
