WOW! What a find in Budapest! 🇭🇺 We were referred to Barrack és Szilva Restaurant by the Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center, and they absolutely nailed the recommendation. We had just arrived from Croatia and wanted a great Hungarian meal, and this place exceeded expectations. Only a 5-minute walk from our hotel, with friendly, fast service and an incredible meal. We had the red wine-braised venison stew and pork tenderloin tournedos, and both were outstanding. The venison was so flavorful and tender, and the sauce was so good I used my bread to get every last drop off the plate! We didn’t have a reservation, although they are recommended, and they were still able to accommodate us. Great food, great service, great experience. Dessert was just as delicious, it was a form of mouth watering cheesecake. Highly recommend. Nagyon finom! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Budapest!

First night in Budapest and great food right away. Duck breast salad was delicios. Generous portions and good taste on every plate. We realy enjoyed the place even though it was a spontaneous choice.

We found this place by accident and in desperation... we were so lucky! The atmosphere was wonderful, delicious food, plus live music and a special dessert for our friend's birthday. A lovely find and a must if you are visiting Budapest.

Fantastic meal best we’ve had since coming away. Bring your appetite as the meals are large including the starters. We had the duck liver pate, goulash, eggplant starters. All were excellent and very tasty. Then we tried the chicken with pasta and the pork tenderloin. All well presented and extremely tasty. Must also add the staff were super helpful and friendly too, highly recommend 10/10

We celebrated our New Years at this restaurant and it did not disappoint, food was delicious, atmosphere was festive and warm, service was great, highly recommend all around! We loved our appetizers of salmon tower and duck pate, mushroom soup was excellent and desert...did get to take a photo of chocolate ganach as it disappeared from my daughter's place before I had a chance :)
