About Ciao Saigon - Vietnamese Restaurant & Cafe
Ciao Saigon is a cozy Vietnamese restaurant in Budapest, serving authentic southern-style dishes made with passion, tradition and family recipes. Today, she shares beloved family recipes with the vibrant flavors of southern Vietnam, each dish prepared with love and authenticity. We came here for lunch today as a recommendation from one of our friend who happens to know Frank & it did not disappoint. Easy to find location at the Urania stop. Cozy little place with an upper loft. Nicely decorated too. Staff were so kind, attentive & friendly. We didn’t have to wait long for our foods & it was really tasty! Reasonably priced. Definitely authentic. Will surely come back to dine again & we highly recommend this place when visiting Budapest.

I have been in Budapest for over a week and this has been my favorite meal so far! I ordered the duck breast curry and it was delicious. It is slightly spicy but not overwhelmong and is incredibly smooth and flavorful. My goal is to eat more food options off of the menu because I am so impressed. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my meal here and the atmosphere is cute and comforting.

Excellent food, great service, good prices and authentic atmosphere. The first thing that I noticed when walking in the restaurant was the hospitality of the waiter and the cozy atmosphere. The interior of the restaurant was beautifully decorated and the waiter was very polite and helpful. The food was delicious, it was brought to us quickly and the portion sizes were very filling. It was truly a wonderful experience, I highly recommend giving this place a try if you’re looking for an authentic experience.

The former beer hall has been turned into a Vietnamese restaurant, which is fine by us because we love Vietnamese food. The waitress and waiter were very friendly and pleasant. It took a long time to get the pho with beef I ordered, but unfortunately, they brought it out together with the second course, the shrimp noodles. What a silly thing—you’re eating the soup and watching the second course get cold. The quality of the food was average. I got bean sprouts and lemon with the pho, but no pickled garlic or chopped hot peppers. The second course, the shrimp noodles, was delicious. All of this was part of a set menu with a discount, and I also ordered a discounted glass of beer. 8,767 forints for a set meal at a Vietnamese restaurant is way too much. What’s so great about this discount?

Great food and service. We were five people and with no reservations we got the whole second floor for ourselves. Good portions and reasonable prices. Food a bit sweet, but that is because of the region of foof and style. Would go back again. Tip: They should improve the ventilation, everyone smelled of food all day😂
