Hotel Danubius exceeded my expectations. Great location and easy access to the airport and train station via public transportation. The hotel looks impressive the minute you walk in. The lobby is big with old fashioned furniture and so is the breakfast room with plenty of food to choose from. Everything about the hotel looked royal to me. The hotel rooms are also cozy and decorated in old fashioned style. However, there is a newer section of the hotel with modern rooms and that's what we had. I was amazed by clever design of the bathroom, plenty of closet storage, refrigerator and the whole room was awesome and very modern looking. I don't know about the other rooms but ours wasn't facing the main street and it was very quiet. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed for ~7 days The Hotel in general is in advantageous position next to metro line, close to stores, the Danube and several attractions. Lobby - nice looking vintage lobby, sort of dimmed lights - entrance double doors where kinda clunky to get through with luggage - staff, no smiles. Cold distanced, disinterested and unwelcoming behaviours (Coupons - for those who wonder what the include) - "sweet's&coffee/tea Happy hour" coupon for 5€ - for what the elderly unmotivated and disinterested waiter told me, one piece of cake and on coffee/tea is included - for the fruit basket for (whopping) 15€ - there were one kiwi, one peach, one pear, one nectarine, two strawberrys and one apples. Step price for those fruits but hey, they were tasty. Breakfast and Dining Hall - nice looking - standard breakfast food - staff was quite buffeling (while i was eating some fruits, my plate for savory food got taken away whit fork and knifes - while I was sitting at the table. The staff rarely smilled or tried to be kind/interested in the guest and acted slowly. It took up to 30 minutes for them to fill up the water tank or several dishes. ACs next to the table did their work quite good and cre

At first glance, the hotel looks very nice, and the location is excellent. It's centrally located, making it easy to get around, although the street outside is quite noisy. The rooms were fairly standard, but there were several issues. The shower was inconsistent—sometimes the water suddenly turned cold or became too hot, and the water pressure was very weak, which made washing my hair difficult. There was also mold in the shower and several silverfish in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the condition of the bathroom significantly affected my overall impression of the room. During one rainy day, the TV also lost its signal for several hours, so no channels were available. The staff were okay—not particularly friendly, but not rude either. However, I never really felt genuinely welcomed. At breakfast, it seemed that some of the staff were inexperienced. For example, our table was cleared while we were still eating, simply because we had briefly gone to get more coffee, making it seem as though the table was being prepared for the next guests. The breakfast itself wasn't really to my taste, as I found the food a bit underseasoned, although I understand that's a matter of personal pref

I recommend this historic hotel in Budapest. Situated just a few blocks from the impressive Hungarian history museum and very close to really nice cafes and restaurants. The hotel is vintage but nevertheless lives up to its 4 star level by offering the services that go accordingly. We stayed in a regular room in the 6th floor and had a lovely view of the avenue and city. The front desk team is number one, they efficiently checked you in and take care of every need. My husband and I needed 2 extra pillows and an anti slip mat for the shower, and they were there in our room upon our return from day long tour. I also complained about the single bed mattresses not being hard enough, well they had replaced them with better ones too. Our housekeeper kept our room perfectly clean and cared for. Excellent job! The restaurant team was also very attentive to our needs. We tried just a snack there. The duck liver paté, the national cold Tocai wine and a most delicious strawberry rhubarb soup! We slept so well. Truly recommend the hotel. It has a art deco style & very nice color choices.
