Really nice breakfast stop on the way to attractions in the Buda Castle area. We particularly enjoyed the baked camembert with pecans and the ube matcha latte

We stumbled across this amazing cafe on the way up the granite steps to the castle district. The food was great and the service was even better. And the owner has the cutest dog..

Came across this place while visiting fisherman's bastion as we were too tired to walk up the steps. They have a surprisingly good range of food for such a small little café, and my boyfriend would highly recommend their iced oat flat white and says it's the best one he's had in all of budapest. It seems like a family run business, everyone working there was friendly and smiley. Would definitely recommend for a non-touristy place to eat with reasonable prices.

I stopped by Rojt és Bojt Coffee while exploring Budapest and found it tucked away down a large flight of stairs, slightly hidden beneath a small rise of apartments. It feels like a proper local find rather than somewhere you would simply stumble across. I had a caramel Spanish coffee, which was delicious, alongside a homemade lemonade. Both were well made and refreshing. To eat, I chose a salmon salad bagel, which was really good and excellent value for money. After a long day exploring, my phone battery was almost dead and they kindly offered to put it on charge for me, which was a genuinely thoughtful touch and much appreciated. I sat outside on their small mezzanine area, which added to the relaxed, neighbourhood feel of the place. The lady who served me was very friendly and welcoming, making the whole visit feel easy and comfortable. A hidden gem with a truly local atmosphere, good food, and great coffee. Definitely worth making a pit stop here during your travels in Budapest.

A lovely little place with a warm, intimate atmosphere. It’s small and beautifully decorated, with only four tables, which makes it feel cozy and relaxed rather than rushed. The bar menu is delicious and well curated, perfect for a light lunch or a snack while exploring the city. Great music, a really nice vibe, and a place where you actually feel invited to slow down for a moment. I had the soup of the day, a filled croissant, and a slice of cake with coffee and a mint tea made with fresh mint, and everything was genuinely delicious. Simple, comforting, and very well done. Most of all, the staff is incredibly friendly: smiling, kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and it makes a big difference. Overall, a wonderful experience and a spot I’d happily return to.
