Restaurants in Hungary usually open from around 11:00 until about 22:00, while bars and ruin bars stay open much later from Thursday to Saturday. On weekdays many places serve a napi menü, a fixed-price lunch of soup and a main course, typically from 11:00 to 15:00. Book a table for Friday and Saturday evenings and public holidays. Many bills already include a service charge (usually 10–15%); if not, a tip of around 10% is customary but never compulsory. Many restaurants also accept the SZÉP card, the employer-funded leisure card. In restaurants the bill usually comes only when you ask for it; check whether a service charge is already included before adding a tip. If you are planning a birthday or another celebration, ask about a private room and a set menu.

Great restaurant, high-quality food. The dishes are presented in a very aesthetic way. However, we were disappointed when we were served a different starter than the one we ordered, and the waiter didn't bother to replace it and even charged us for it…

We had a very enjoyable family lunch at Szaletly. The restaurant is set in a beautiful historic building with a charming, elegant atmosphere that feels both stylish and relaxed. It's a bit outside the city center, but still easy to get to, and parking nearby was no problem. The interior is tastefully decorated, and a soft background music created a pleasant mood. They also have a garden terrace that looks lovely. The service was a highlight: friendly, attentive, and professional throughout. The homemade lemonades were excellent, and our daughter really enjoyed the chicken soup. The menu is interesting with a focus on traditional Hungarian dishes. If I had one suggestion, it would be that the food, while solid and enjoyable, didn't quite reach the same level as the atmosphere and service. The dishes were fine, but not especially memorable for us. Even so, we left feeling genuinely welcomed and had a lovely afternoon. We'd be happy to come back.

Gorgeous food and great service. Our waiter Peter was friendly and polite, and helped us to pair some really lovely wines with our food. The inside was closed for renovations when we visited but we were notified of this in advance and the outside setting was perfect for a summer evening dinner. A little out of the main city but well worth the trip over - can’t recommend enough.

Went for the 5 course menu. The egg starter was good, not great. The raspberry soup was very tasty and interesting. But the main courses really disappointed. The chicken dish, the chicken was too salty and the sides flavorless. The lamb meatloaf dish the lamb was much too salty and didn't taste nice regardless, would prefer just regular piece of lamb. The pea sides there were good. Chocolate dessert was tasty but very heavy. The cocktails we tried, and the menu accompanying sake and wine were all delicious and well priced. Overall the price was high, there were some fine dishes but the mains really spoiled it. Their reputation didn't match the quality of the main dishes. Maybe focus more on small tasty dishes then big overly salty mains in your tasting menu. A disappointment after we tried 3 outstanding dishes of Szaletly at the their stand at the times out market (foie gras mousse with tokai jelly, blood sausage croquette and poppy seed bread pudding). The service was average, 3 different people came to ask us/pus us to order drinks before we properly had a look at the menu, and dishes came out very quickly after another, not all dishes were explained; the wine was nicely explain

Overall, good experience, recommdend it, I’d definitely come back. Food was good, not exceptional but cooked well and would love to eat it again. Lot of options to choose from, however, very meat heavy, very little fish to choose from and 4-5 vegeterian dishes to pick only. I’d love if more vegetarian local dishes were added, pottages perhaps, and definitely more fish but the dishes I’ve tried were good, good textures, nice plating, good flavour profile balanced out with acidity. Service was great, very accommodating and in general very friendly and professional. We had a good time!
