I’ve brought many of my friends to this place, and not a single one has left disappointed. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine anyone not enjoying the food here. The quality is on another level. In my opinion, this is the most authentic Taiwanese food you’ll find in Budapest. Every dish is beautifully presented, with incredible attention to detail. I absolutely love their noodles, and their selection of small side dishes is just as impressive. It’s such a pleasure to have a place like this in Budapest that serves authentic Taiwanese cuisine so well. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

The food was ok, but in case you go for taiwanese flavors, you should know the dishes are not traditional taiwanese. It was said to learn it as we took there someone with taiwanese background. The steamed dumplings’ dough was too thick, and the biggest disappointment was the “kimchi”. They served sauerkraut/savanyu kaposzta with some shredded carrots and sauce on it as “golden kimchi”… nice try, but we noticed the trick.

I was excited to go to this branch, but to be honest it was underwhelming. On a Sunday night, the Sichuan Spinach was sold out. The rice was too salty and they also forgot 2 of the dishes we ordered. You’re better off going to the 101 Bistro at Timeout Market.

We visited Bistro 101 with high expectations after hearing a lot about the concept, but unfortunately it didn’t quite work for us. This is, of course, just our personal experience. We tried several dishes, including dumplings, a broth, and a bao bun. The dumplings didn’t really stand out for us, and the broth was unfortunately very bland, especially considering the price. The bao bun also lacked flavor and didn’t feel well balanced overall. The portions were quite small, and to feel satisfied we would have needed to order several more dishes, which made the experience feel rather expensive. The concept is interesting, but in terms of taste and value, it simply wasn’t a good match for us.

We were so pleasantly surprised by 101 Bistro. The eggplant (aubergine) was amazing- this is what a friend had suggested to me, and did not disappoint. We sat inside and went early, but there was a lovely back patio that was pretty full at 6pm. Reservation may be helpful. The staff was warm and helpful. This restaurant is conveniently located close to the Metro/Bus/Tram stops at Szell Kalman, so easy to get to. Great!
