DONT EAT AT THE FIRST SHOP! We visited the Basilica Market yesterday, and overall it’s a genuinely beautiful place. However, we had a really shocking experience with one of the food stalls (Tocsni potatoe pancakes)We paid 63 euros for just four items: a skewer, a sausage, a potato pancake, and COLD fries. The biggest issue: all the food is clearly pre-cooked and just briefly reheated in a microwave or on a grill. We visited around 3pm, and the food tasted like it had been sitting there since early morning. It was inedible. Charging around 15 euros per item for reheated, low-quality food like this feels like an absolute scam. We would strongly advise against ordering here.

A very nice and large basilica. Taking the elevator to the viewing area was great, although there are still stairs to get to it. Great city views all around.

Simply stunning display of religious and ceremonial architecture throughout both the inside and outside of the building. Reasonably priced and everyone there staff and tourist alike were very respectful towards the building, its history and its visitors

St. Stephen’s Basilica is an absolute must-see in Budapest. The architectural detail is breathtaking, and the history woven into every corner is truly remarkable. Standing inside, you can feel the depth of culture and heritage that defines this incredible city. Budapest itself is rich with character, beauty, and architectural history that is nothing short of amazing. A memorable and inspiring experience.

The market in front of St Stephen’s Basilica is stunning — with beautiful lights, music, a huge Christmas tree and frequent 3D light shows on the basilica façade that really capture the holiday spirit. There are plenty of artisan stalls offering handmade crafts, decorations and gifts, plus mulled wine and classic Hungarian treats. It’s definitely one of Europe’s best Christmas markets, loved by visitors from around the world. Note: It can get crowded and some food/drink prices are on the higher side compared to local spots, but the atmosphere and views more than make up for it.
