Good food, friendly staff, fair for the location Overall a decent experience. The food was tasty, portions were plenty big, and the staff were very nice. It’s a bit on the expensive side once the mandatory service fee gets added, but that’s pretty standard for being right next to the palace. A solid spot for lunch in the castle district.

Overall, it’s the perfect place to treat yourself to something sweet after walking all day. The Dobos torte was smaller than expected, but it tasted good. Nothing too special, but definitely enjoyable. The lychee drink was very refreshing and a great choice. 7,3/10 The apple cake was a little dry for my taste, but the vanilla ice cream made up for it. 7/10 The service was friendly, and the café had a beautiful interior with a cozy atmosphere. 9/10

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable Hungarian dining experience! If you’re visiting Budapest and want to experience authentic Hungarian cuisine away from the tourist crowds, Főőrség és Lovarda is an absolute must. From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be special. The restaurant combines beautiful surroundings near Buda Castle with warm Hungarian hospitality and outstanding food made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. Everything we ordered was exceptional. The chicken salad was incredibly fresh, the spinach soup was rich and comforting, the traditional goulash was one of the best we’ve ever had, the fish was perfectly cooked, and even the homemade lemonade was refreshing and delicious. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of authentic flavor. What truly made our visit unforgettable was the incredible service. Mr. Gabor and Mr. Adrian went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were professional, friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had an amazing dining experience. Their recommendations and hospitality made us feel like honored guests rather than tourists. After traveling extensively around the world, we can honestly say this wa
