Very disappointing experience at Lidl today. I waited 20 minutes in line at the self-checkout, only to find out that card payments weren’t working. Instead of helping, the staff were shouting at customers and basically saying that if you didn’t have cash, it was your problem. No solution, no explanation, no attempt to fix anything. They eventually just took my full basket away instead of helping me pay. They don’t accept euros either. Absolutely terrible customer service. If your payment system doesn’t work, it’s your responsibility to solve the problem — not the customer’s.

Cramped, hectic feeling store. Good selection of products but vibe is stressful due to volume of people and narrow aisles. On the plus side they have the recycling machine thing but expect a wait due to the number of homeless returning multiple large bags at a time.

This store does not deserve to be called a supermarket. It is chaotic, disorganised and dirty. The shopping baskets contain dirt that appears to have been there for days. I am genuinely surprised that the health authorities have not already ordered its closure. Any further words would be unnecessary – the photos speak for themselves.

I love Lidl!! Such cheap pastries, bought breakfast and lunch for around €4, and was full all day! If only the scales on the self checkout weren’t so sensitive, because it really slows down the whole system. Super cheap, great quality.

Maybe I visited at a bad time - the crowd was enormous and you couldn't find anything. I can't believe there were some customers that had full shopping baskets, as the only thing I wanted to do upon entering was to leave immediately. I hope they pay the staff a lot because I can't imagine working in that crowd! The store has self check out which was almost impossible to find, so we waited on the normal queues that were the longest I've ever seen in my life. Overall I'd want to see the store while it's calm inside, but I don't think such times exist as it is placed on a very busy place.
