Deeply sobering experience. A touching tribute to those who died at the hands of others for no reason other than their difference. Praying this does not happen again- anywhere to any people.

Very sympathetic tribute to those who suffered during the atrocities of war. Spent some time quietly thinking of them all. Definitely on the list of places to visit during a trip to Budapest.

Standing by the Shoes on the Danube Bank was deeply moving. It is heartbreaking to hear the story behind this place and to think about the innocent lives lost. A very sad but powerful reminder of history, humanity and the pain that should never be forgotten.

Beyond the beauty of the Parliament building lies this chilling memorial. 60 pairs of iron shoes stand frozen in time, marking the spot where innocent lives were lost to the Danube. It’s a heavy experience but a necessary one to understand the history of this city. Truly the most touching spot in Budapest.
