As a tourist, I wanted to try Hungarian food especially Paprikash (which I have cooked myself). It was very delicious! We tried the mushroom and the chicken paprikash (see photos). The flavors were rich and well developed. The wait staff was kind and attentive and the atmosphere was excellent. It has a very nice appearance but not at all hoity toity (which I hate).

Had an early dinner there yesterday. The food tasted very homely, yet looked very sophisticated. Would have licked the plate had I not been at a restaurant, that's how good everything tasted. The waiter we had was also awesome from the moment we stepped inside until the moment we walked out. Felt special and could see that he really enjoyed his job. This is becoming rare to see, so was a very welcome experience through and through. Starred the restaurant for any future visit to Budapest.

A lovely meal. Ordered the goulash soup, sea perch with rice and vitamin salad. They offered the Hungarian chili peppers as a condiment. Everything was spot on and very good. (We had some earlier at another restaurant and were not so good). Friendly and lovely staff. Ambience was pleasant and comfortable. Will recommend. 👍🏻

Food was quite nice. We started with meat filled pancakes and goulash soup. The former was a nice surprise, while the soup was quite rich and smooth. For the mains, we went for Wiener veal schnitzel and Batthanyi style borzas. Very good quality and flavours (again the borzas were a pleasant surprise). To a great finish, some tokaji and an apple strudel. The service from Lajos and Dominik was great and friendly. Especially Lajos was super helpful. Great ambience and live cimbalom music.

!! The soups were really excellent mushroom soup and the goulash) soup.) However, the main courses were less successful. The beef in wine was quite nice, but it was not mentioned that it is very sweet, which was a bit disappointing. The lamb shank was slightly dry, though still edible. The apple strudel was excellent. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with great music and kind, attentive waiters. We did not ask to replace the less successful dishes, even though we only took one bite of the mushroom dish, because it did not feel appropriate to do so in that setting. However, if the waiter had offered, it probably would have improved the overall experience. Overall, it was a nice experience, but we will not return.
