We bought a pair of shoes online and I went to pick it up (it was already paid for, so I was an actual customer, not a random person going in, touching everything and not buying anything). The shoes and the craftsmanship are exceptional at Vass Shoes, however, as a lot of different customer mentioned before me, the in-person customer service is very rude. The older lady barely answered my questions, avoided eye contact, she looked generally bored, distant and bothered. It's a shame that you make many customers or potential customers belittled, it is not professional at all. To be a high-end brand, you should pay attention to this, you cannot build a loyal customer base with this mentality, a good product is not everything considering the competitors with similar or better products and prices.

since Jan. 2025 I have had 4 pairs of MTO shoes from Vass. They are really beautiful! - Chukka - F last, Bordeaux Museum Calf - Loafer - P last, Bordeaux Calf - Norweger - P last, Brown Scotchgrain - Balmoral boots - K last, dark brown Cordovan mixed with suede I am usually a 44 EU size. I have a slightly wide foot and a rounded/curved heal, hence these are the main adjustment points during the foot measuring process for the MTO. For the F/K lasts, the baseline (starting point for MTO) is 43.5 whereas for the P last the baseline is 44. Gabor was super nice and professional in terms of foot measurement and attention to details. Since it is MTO, I can also choose freely from the range of leathers (calf, suede, cordovan, etc), outsole construction (leather: single, half-double, double; rubber), metal toe plate, Goiser/Norwegian stitching, etc. Lasted shoe tree is always included within the MTO price. The MTO takes about 2 months, and can be either shipped to any address or can be picked up in the shop. Had a lovely experience at the shop today. I’ve been to hundreds of shoe stores across the world and the quality here is just as good as at the top Italian, French or Spanish manufacturers for a VERY reasonable (for made to measure) price. Ordered a pair of Chukka boots that I cannot wait to wear! Great service too :)

Vass is a traditional, down-to-earth, family-owned company making high quality shoes that will last you decades. They have a large selection of ready-to-wear (RTW) shoes in-store. If you are not able to find something in-store, it is possible to order custom shoes and have them shipped over to you. This takes approximately 1.5 months but is worth the wait: MTM shoes give you a greater degree of flexibility: you can choose the last (you can also request modifications to the width), leather colour, sole type etc... Vass has a very wide selection of lasts (10+), from the clunky/classic Budapester to more elegant lasts, so there is something for everybody here. I have two pairs: one RTW and one MTM. Both were painfully expensive, but are an absolute joy to wear. The post-sale service is also reliable: I still haven’t had to have a shoe resoled but did need to have a new pair stretched, which Vass did for me to perfection.
