Mandatory stop if you're serious about exploring the city. The architeture is phenomenal, like most things in this beautiful city. There are elevators if you prefer to take them instead of climbing a lot of stairs to the top, which was great as we bad a baby stroller. Once at the top, enjoy the unreal view of the city. You can walk around the great historical buildings and occasionally find ravens that are used to getting close to people. For hot summer days, there's a working public water faucet for water refilling and, a misting station that you can just walk by to refresh yourself, without getting wet.

When in Budapest, visit the ‘Buda Castle District!’ Period! Once can never appreciate Budapest without being here. It is on the Buda side of River Danube. It has some of Hungary’s most historic sites including the Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, and the likes. My partner and I visited the ‘Buda Castle District’ on June 5, 2026 (Friday). We were taken on a guided trip and that helped us a lot. It was lovely walking along the alleys of the district. It also gave us a meaty glimpse into the history of Hungary. We spent nearly an hour and a half at the place. We were happy at the end of the visit! Should we again get the opportunity, we would love to explore this place once again!

A must-see when in Budapest. I spent over six hours there (15 minutes trying to figure out how to get out 😅). Exhibits are interesting, organized, relevant, and portray the history of Hungary very well. Excellent views of the city. Be prepared to do a LOT of walking and climbing stairs. Elevators are available. Coffee shop was good.

If you think you’re touring a castle, you’re wrong. This place was reconfigured to an art museum, displaying an interesting assortment of art. The views from the top of the castle are spectacular, but some of the art is very strange, they have an extremely wacky modern art exhibit that’s quite strange. However, for refined gentlemen like myself, I enjoyed the recessicance art quite a bit. They even have 2 monets!!!!!!🗣️🗣️🗣️

Visiting Buda Castle was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of my trip to Budapest. The journey itself begins beautifully by taking the historic Budapest Castle Hill Funicular, which adds charm and excitement while climbing toward the castle with spectacular views along the way. Once at the top, the panoramic view from Buda to Pest is absolutely breathtaking. Seeing the Danube River, the bridges, and the magnificent Hungarian Parliament Building across the city creates one of the most beautiful cityscapes in Europe. One of the most relaxing moments was enjoying a coffee at the café while admiring the incredible view over Budapest. The atmosphere feels elegant, peaceful, and truly magical. The castle itself is majestic, historic, and full of architectural beauty, making the entire experience even more memorable. Overall, a must visit destination in Budapest scenic, historic, and absolutely spectacular.
